Forest Ridge Park Mountain Bike Trail Update
OpenThe Mountain Bike Trail at Forest Ridge Park is currently open. Please contact the park office for more information at 919-996-5800.
Mountain Bike Trail status is affected by weather and trail conditions. Please only ride dry trails and respect wildlife and other users.
For emergencies while on the trail, call 9-1-1.

The temporary pop-up dog park closed in August 2025, and we anticipate our brand-new permanent dog park will open in its place in Summer 2026.

Winterizing Fountains in All Dog Parks
Affected Date-The City of Raleigh has winterized all outdoor water fountains at dog parks.
This process helps protect pipes and fixtures from freezing temperatures during the colder months. While fountains are turned off for the season, please remember to bring water for your pet when visiting the park.Services Affected

Code YellowBoat Launch Ramp NoticeAffected Date-
Due to low water levels, all patrons with trailered boats are advised to use caution when attempting to launch their vessels.
It is recommended that vessels over 20ft do not attempt to launch their vessels during these conditions. Additionally, all boaters need to be aware of potential low-water hazards and exposed shorelines during this time.

Pullen Amusements Closed February - March
Affected Date-A shoreline improvement project at Lake Howell will require a full closure of Pullen Park Amusements from February 2 - March 31. This includes all attractions, amenities, playgrounds, and picnic shelters.
Pullen Aquatic Center, Pullen Community Center, and tennis courts will remain open.

Construction at Durant Nature Preserve
We anticipate construction to begin in late June 2025 and take approximately 7 months to complete. During construction, a portion of the Border Trail at Durant Nature Preserve will be closed and there will be, at times, temporary single lane closures at the corner of Spottswood and Welborn Streets.

Aquatics Facilities Modified Hours and Capacity
Raleigh Parks aquatic facilities may have limited capacities, hours of operation, or reduced amenities available due to staffing.

Stormwater Infrastructure Rehabilitation Construction
Repairing Pipes in Poor ConditionWe are repairing about 3,425 feet of poor condition stormwater pipes. Construction began late August 2025 and will last 6 months.
What To Expect
There will be traffic impacts at each project location from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm during the project period. Traffic closures will range from flagging and light traffic control to temporary lane or street closures. For the most part, local traffic (residents within the work zone) will have access to their driveways and will be able to come and go as needed.
