    Lane Closure on Wade Avenue

    Please drive slow through the construction site.

    Raleigh Water Sewer Maintenance will be repairing a sewer collection system at the 2000 Block of Wade Avenue, Raleigh NC. Traffic traveling on Wade Avenue from Dixie Trail towards Brooks Avenue will be reduced down to a single lane. Both lanes will open reopen before Brooks Avenue.

    Blount, Hargett Intersection Closed for Construction Detours

    A full intersection closure will be in place at S. Blount Street and E. Hargett Street as part of a Capital Improvement Project. A detour will be in place, and crews also will be working along S. Person Street. On Tuesday, June 30, the east lane of S. Blount Street will remain closed between E. Hargett Street and Martin Street.

    Motorists should expect temporary lane closures, lane shifts and delays in the downtown area between June 28 and June 30. Access will be maintained where possible. Motorists are urged to follow posted signs, drive carefully through work zones and use alternate routes when possible. The city thanks residents and visitors for their patience as crews complete these improvements.

    Fayetteville St., E. Hargett St. Closure

    A full intersection closure will be in place at Fayetteville Street and E. Hargett Street in downtown Raleigh as crews complete work associated with a Capital Improvement Project. The intersection will be opened each morning at 6 a.m

    A detour will be in place, and motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible. Drivers are urged to follow posted signage, use caution when traveling through the work zone, and be alert for crews working in the area. The City thanks residents and visitors for their patience as these improvements are completed.

    Street Closure for a Water and Sewer Maintenance

    The Raleigh Water Sewer Maintenance Division is currently performing maintenance on N. Bloodworth Street and Pace Street. Pace Street will be closed at N. Person Street and N. Bloodworth Street. 

    The intersection will remain open for motorists traveling on N. Bloodworth Street. Motorists traveling on N. Person Street will use E. Franklin Street as a detour.

    For your safety, and that of the crews working on this project, drive cautiously through the construction zone.

    South Blount Street Lane Closure

    When: Monday, June 29, 2026, from 7 p.m. to Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 6 a.m. Night work will occur from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. The lane closure will remain in place throughout Tuesday and end at 6 a.m. Wednesday.

    Where: South Blount Street between Morgan and Hargett streets

    What to expect:

    • Overnight lane closure, with the closure remaining in place all day Tuesday, June 30. One southbound lane will remain open.
    • No street parking during work hours.
    • Expect delays and use alternate routes.
    • No water service interruptions are expected.

    Atlantic Avenue Construction

    Crews are actively working on the Atlantic Avenue Improvement Project. There may be temporary lane closures and traffic shifts during this work. For your safety and that of the construction crews, please slow down and follow the flagger's instructions while driving through the construction zone. 

    Please note: there is a road closure starting June 23, 2026, on New Hope Church Road associated with the NCDOT project at the New Hope Church Road railroad crossing.

    Sewer Main Repair on Furches Street

    Please drive slow through the construction site.

    The Sewer Maintenance Division is currently performing a sewer main repair on the 400 block of Furches Street. 

    DETOUR:

    Furches Street will be closed from Faircloth Street to Ruffin Street.
     
    Traffic will not be allowed to turn off Faircloth Street onto Furches Street. Motorists need to turn onto Ruffin Street then back to Furches.

    Sewer Repair to Reduce Traffic on Wade Avenue

    The Raleigh Water Sewer Maintenance Division will reduce Wade Avenue to one lane between Banbury Woods Place and Brooks Avenue on Monday, June 22, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. while crews repair the sewer collection system in the 2800 block of Wade Avenue. Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time through the area. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as crews complete this necessary work.

    Turkey Creek Trail Closure

    Mile Marker 16.75

    A section of the Turkey Creek Trail at Umstead State Park is closed for a bridge replacement project. During this time, access between Umstead State Park, the Crabtree Creek Trail and the parking lot located at 4924 Ebenezer Church Road, will remain open. Be advised that users will not be able to go north into Umstead State Park along the Turkey Creek Trail from the Crabtree Creek Trail. This project is being coordinated by North Carolina State Parks.

    Do not use Ebenezer Church Road as access to the trail systems. Ebenezer Church Road is a busy vehicular road with a speed limit of 45 mph. For your safety, do not cross the construction barricades.

    Neuse River Trail Closure

    Between Mile Markers 10 - 11.5 and 12.5 - 13.25

    A section of the Neuse River Trail, just north of the Skycrest Pedestrian Bridge (Structure 244) to River Bend Park, is closed for a sewer improvement project. Additionally, the access points to the trail at Buffaloe Road Athletic Park and River Bend Park are closed. As part of the Upper West Neuse Interceptor project, approximately 11,400 linear feet of existing 48-inch sewer along the western side of the Neuse River from Beaverdam Creek to north of I-540 will be replaced. A trail detour is not available. View Closure Map.
