Upper West Neuse Interceptor

Existing infrastructure found in this area is undersized and will be replaced and upgraded.

 Replacement of approximately 11,400 linear feet of existing 48-inch sewer along western side of the Neuse River from Beaverdam Creek to north of I-540.  The sewer will be upgraded to 60-inch diameter to accommodate increased capacity needs in this area. The sewer will also be upgraded to 60-inch diameter to accommodate increased capacity needs in this area.

History

Preliminary condition assessment was completed in 2017. This assessment found a number of issues with the existing sewer system. Should these issues not be corrected, a failure of the system could occur.

Recent system capacity modeling indicated that this section of the replacement sewer should be upsized from 48 to 60-inch diameter.
