Due to construction, Pullen Community Center will be closed on Saturday, June 6 and Saturday, June 13.

Due to low water levels, Lake Wheeler boat launch ramps are closed until further notice. All patrons with trailered boats will not have access to launch ramps. Boat launch access for hand-carried boats will remain open.

Additionally, all boaters need to be aware of potential low-water hazards and exposed shorelines during this time.

As part of the Lake Howell shoreline improvement project, Pullen Amusements and playground operations are temporarily modified.

• The train is closed due to active construction near the tracks
• The kiddie boat ride is closed due to maintenance
• The carousel is open now through Sunday, June 7
• All amusements and the playground will be closed Monday, June 8, through Wednesday, June 10

This temporary closure allows contractors to safely bring in materials needed for the construction of the new shoreline wall. We appreciate your patience as we continue making improvements!

Field status is updated daily around 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and around 7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Coaches and or team managers, any changes in field status beyond this point will be communicated to you through your league administrator. 

June 3 is Code Green, which indicates that all field games and activities will proceed as scheduled. 

The Mountain Bike Trail at Forest Ridge Park is currently open.  Please contact the park office for more information at 919-996-5800.

Mountain Bike Trail status is affected by weather and trail conditions. Please only ride dry trails and respect wildlife and other users.

Due to striping, the parking lot and athletic courts at Sanderford Road Park will have limited access on Tuesday, June 2.

We began construction in June 2025 and plan for it to be completed in July 2026. During construction, a portion of the Border Trail at Durant Nature Preserve will be closed and there will be, at times, temporary single lane closures at the corner of Spottswood and Welborn Streets.

Raleigh Parks aquatic facilities may have limited capacities, hours of operation, or reduced amenities available due to staffing.

Due to renovations, the playground at Eastgate Park will be closed from June 1 through June 24.

Please visit one of our other playgrounds.

The City is restoring three (3) streams and adding wetlands in Worthdale Park. Construction is expected to begin in September 2025 and be completed in June 2026.

During on-site work hours, there may be elevated noise or vibrations. The park and Community Center will remain open during construction. Fencing will be placed around the construction area, restricting access to the public. Some parking spots will be used for construction equipment and materials.
