Raleigh Parks aquatic facilities may have limited capacities, hours of operation, or reduced amenities available due to staffing.

The City is restoring three (3) streams and adding wetlands in Worthdale Park. Construction is expected to begin in September 2025 and be completed in the early 2027.

During on-site work hours, there may be elevated noise or vibrations. The park and Community Center will remain open during construction. Fencing will be placed around the construction area, restricting access to the public. Some parking spots will be used for construction equipment and materials.

Due to maintenance, the dog park at Buffaloe Road will be closed Friday, Oct. 2, through Friday, Oct. 23.

Construction crews are actively working on the Lake Wheeler Road Improvement Project. There will be construction activity along sections of Lake Wheeler Road for two years. The good news is - detours are in place, and you can still get to Dix Park and the Farmer’s Market, and residents and businesses will have access to their properties.  

For your safety, and that of the crews working on this project, please follow detours and signage. We appreciate your patience as we work to make Lake Wheeler Road safer and more accessible for all users.

Construction crews are actively working on the New Bern Avenue Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project. There may be temporary lane closures during this work. 

For your safety, and that of the crews working on this project, drive cautiously through the construction zone. Please follow detours and signage, and expect delays. We appreciate your patience as we work on improving transit and pedestrian connectivity along the corridor. 
 

September - December 2026

The contractor expects to return to Lake Boone Trail over the next few weeks to repair a section of pavement identified during the project’s final inspection last December.

Motorists should:

• Watch for flaggers directing traffic
• Use caution near the work area
• Expect minor delays during repairs

The contractor expects the repairs to take about a day once work begins. The schedule is still being finalized, including whether the contractor will complete the work at night.

Crews are actively working on the Barwell Road Improvement Project. There may be temporary lane closures and traffic shifts during this work.

For your safety and that of the construction crews, please slow down and follow the flagger's instructions while driving through the construction zone.
