    Winterizing Fountains in All Dog Parks

    The City of Raleigh will begin winterizing all outdoor water fountains at dog parks starting today. 

    This process helps protect pipes and fixtures from freezing temperatures during the colder months. While fountains are turned off for the season, please remember to bring water for your pet when visiting the park.

    Pullen Park Closures for Holiday Express

    Pullen Park Amusements will close for Merry & Bright and Holiday Express on:

    • Saturday, Nov. 29 at 5 p.m.
    • Dec. 2 through Dec. 22 at 2:30 p.m.
    • Saturday, Dec. 6  at 11:30 a.m.
    • Sunday, Dec. 14 at 11:30 a.m.

    Pullen Community Center and Pullen Aquatic Center will close at 3 p.m. on:

    • Thursday, Dec. 11 and Friday, Dec. 12
    • Wednesday, Dec. 17 and Thursday, Dec. 18

    Glenbrook Drive and Dacian Road Construction

    Construction will begin March 2025. We will then do tree removal, erosion control, and tree and construction fencing  installation. Road closures are going to impact the community, but traffic detours will be posted. The duration of the construction is approximately 10 months which puts the completion in early 2026.

    Glenwood Creston Drainage Project Construction

    Stormwater System Upgrade

    We started construction for the Glenwood Creston Drainage Project and anticipate it being complete in November 2026. This project will be completed in phases so actual construction activities will vary along the project corridor which starts upslope of Woodland Avenue and terminates downslope of Alexander Drive.

    What To Expect

    Traffic closures will range from flagging and light traffic control to temporary lane or street closures. For the most part, local traffic (residents within the work zone) will have access to their driveways and will be able to come and go as needed. Normal work hours will be Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. No work will be scheduled on weekends or City holidays, except in an emergency or with prior approval from the City. The City will have an inspector onsite daily.

    Construction at Worthdale Park

    Stream Restoration and Green Stormwater Infrastructure

    The City is restoring three (3) streams and adding wetlands in Worthdale Park. Construction is expected to begin in September 2025 and take about six months (March 2026).

    During on-site work hours, there may be elevated noise or vibrations. The park and Community Center will remain open during construction. Fencing will be placed around the construction area, restricting access to the public. Some parking spots will be used for construction equipment and materials.

    Dunbar Road Emergency Construction

    Repairing the Stormwater System

    We are replacing a stormwater pipe and fixing a sink hole on Dunbar Road. Construction began mid-September 2025 and will take about 2 months (November 2025). Construction will take place Monday-Friday during standard work hours. Road closures on Dunbar Road is set during the construction period.

    Stormwater Infrastructure Rehabilitation Construction

    Repairing Pipes in Poor Condition

    We are repairing about 3,425 feet of poor condition stormwater pipes. Construction began late August 2025 and will last 6 months.

    What To Expect

    There will be traffic impacts at each project location from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm during the project period. Traffic closures will range from flagging and light traffic control to temporary lane or street closures. For the most part, local traffic (residents within the work zone) will have access to their driveways and will be able to come and go as needed.
