Construction at Durant Nature Preserve
We began construction in June 2025 and plan for it to be completed in July 2026. During construction, a portion of the Border Trail at Durant Nature Preserve will be closed and there will be, at times, temporary single lane closures at the corner of Spottswood and Welborn Streets.

Greystone Recreation Center Playground Closure
Tuesday, April 21Affected Date-The playground at Greystone Recreation Center will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m on Tuesday, April 21, for maintenance. The facility will be open, and classes will operate as scheduled.

The temporary pop-up dog park closed in August 2025, and we anticipate our brand-new permanent dog park will open in its place in Summer 2026.

Winterizing Fountains in All Dog Parks
Affected Date-The City of Raleigh has winterized all outdoor water fountains at dog parks.
This process helps protect pipes and fixtures from freezing temperatures during the colder months. While fountains are turned off for the season, please remember to bring water for your pet when visiting the park.Services Affected

Code YellowBoat Launch Ramp NoticeAffected Date-
Due to low water levels, all patrons with trailered boats are advised to use caution when attempting to launch their vessels.
It is recommended that vessels over 20ft do not attempt to launch their vessels during these conditions. Additionally, all boaters need to be aware of potential low-water hazards and exposed shorelines during this time.

Partial Reopening of Pullen Amusements Begins April 1
Affected Date-Beginning April 1, Pullen Park Amusements will reopen while the shoreline improvements around Lake Howell continue through August. Visitors can once again enjoy their favorite rides and attractions this spring and summer.

Glenbrook Drive and Dacian Road Construction
Affected Date-Construction will begin March 2025. We will then do tree removal, erosion control, and tree and construction fencing installation. Road closures are going to impact the community, but traffic detours will be posted. The duration of the construction is approximately 10 months which puts the completion in Spring 2026.

Glenwood Creston Drainage Project Construction
Stormwater System UpgradeWe started construction for the Glenwood Creston Drainage Project and anticipate it being complete in November 2026. This project will be completed in phases so actual construction activities will vary along the project corridor which starts upslope of Woodland Avenue and terminates downslope of Alexander Drive.
What To Expect
Traffic closures will range from flagging and light traffic control to temporary lane or street closures. For the most part, local traffic (residents within the work zone) will have access to their driveways and will be able to come and go as needed. Normal work hours will be Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. No work will be scheduled on weekends or City holidays, except in an emergency or with prior approval from the City. The City will have an inspector onsite daily.
