Sertoma Arts Center Closing Frequently Asked Questions
Sertoma Arts Center will be undergoing a renovation and expansion starting in June 2026. This project is part of the 2022 Parks Bond.
The expanded space and renovation are essential to better serve our growing creative community. We also understand that the temporary closure will be challenging. Sertoma staff are here to support you, answer questions, and share updates throughout the process.
Why is Sertoma Arts Center Closing?
Sertoma was overdue for renovations, especially to increase accessibility to the Center. This construction project will address the current center's limitations and prepare for future needs by including:
Expanded and updated studio spaces for ceramics, painting, jewelry, and fiber arts as well as an updated youth studio.
Additional gallery and multi-purpose space.
Improved site accessibility and general building upgrades.
Leveraging the park setting by increasing connections to the outdoors, bringing nature into the center.
What is the project timeline?
Sertoma Arts Center will be closed off to the public starting June 22.

Summer 2026 through Summer 2027 - Construction
What will happen to programming during this time?
Programming will continue during the closure, with classes and workshops relocating to alternate sites beginning in September.
Programs that do not require special studio equipment will be held at Glen Eden Pilot Park, including adult, teen, youth, and inclusion programming.
Pottery programming will be relocated to our sister-site, Pullen Arts Center.
Select youth, teen, and inclusion programs that do not require studio specific equipment will relocate to Laurel Hills Community Center.
Will you continue to offer studio memberships during the closure?
Pottery and Jewelry studio memberships will be sold to qualified potters and jewelers at Pullen Arts Center. Please contact Pullen Arts for questions regarding qualifications and the membership process 919-996-6126 or pullenartscenter@raleighnc.gov. No studio memberships will be offered through Sertoma Arts Center during the closure.
