Due to striping, the parking lot and athletic courts at Green Road Park will have limited access on Monday, May 18.

We began construction in June 2025 and plan for it to be completed in July 2026. During construction, a portion of the Border Trail at Durant Nature Preserve will be closed and there will be, at times, temporary single lane closures at the corner of Spottswood and Welborn Streets.

Raleigh Parks aquatic facilities may have limited capacities, hours of operation, or reduced amenities available due to staffing.

Due to repairs, the Greystone Recreation Center will be closed on Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28.

All programs, classes, and open play are canceled for these dates.

Lake Wheeler Park will host the ACC Women’s Rowing Championship on May 15 and 16. This event is co-sponsored by UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University, ACC, Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance, and the City of Raleigh. 9 ACC Collegiate teams are scheduled to compete.

- All public water access will close from Wednesday, May 13, through Saturday, May 16.
- Lake Wheeler Park will close completely on Thursday, May 14.
- The event will be free to all spectators on Friday, May 15, and Sunday, May 16.
- Lake Access will resume for public use on Sunday, May 17.

The City is restoring three (3) streams and adding wetlands in Worthdale Park. Construction is expected to begin in September 2025 and be completed in June 2026.

During on-site work hours, there may be elevated noise or vibrations. The park and Community Center will remain open during construction. Fencing will be placed around the construction area, restricting access to the public. Some parking spots will be used for construction equipment and materials.

The dog park at Moore Square is temporarily closed as we prepare for exciting improvements.

The temporary pop-up dog park closed in August 2025, and we anticipate our brand-new permanent dog park will open in its place in Summer 2026.

Due to striping, the parking lot at Method Community Park will have limited access on Monday, May 18.

Construction will begin March 2025. We will then do tree removal, erosion control, and tree and construction fencing  installation. Road closures are going to impact the community, but traffic detours will be posted. The duration of the construction is approximately 10 months which puts the completion in Spring 2026.

Construction crews are actively working on the Barwell Road Improvement Project. There may be temporary lane closures during this work. 

For your safety, and that of the crews working on this project, drive cautiously through the construction zone. Please follow detours and signage, and expect delays. We appreciate your patience as we work to make Barwell Road safer and more accessible for all users.
