Field status is updated daily around 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and around 7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Coaches and or team managers, any changes in field status beyond this point will be communicated to you through your league administrator.

January 7 is Code Green, which indicates all field activities will proceed as scheduled.

Dog Park Closure

The dog park at Moore Square is temporarily closed as we prepare for exciting improvements.

The temporary pop-up dog park closed in August, and we anticipate our brand-new permanent dog park will open in its place in January 2026.

Construction at Durant Nature Preserve

We anticipate construction to begin in late June 2025 and take approximately 7 months to complete. During construction, a portion of the Border Trail at Durant Nature Preserve will be closed and there will be, at times, temporary single lane closures at the corner of Spottswood and Welborn Streets.

Leesville Community Park and Strickland Road Park Closure

Due to construction, Strickland Road Neighborhood Park and Leesville Community Park are closed through Winter 2026. Learn more about the Leesville Community Park and Strickland Road Park Improvement Project.

Winterizing Fountains in All Dog Parks

-

The City of Raleigh has winterized all outdoor water fountains at dog parks.

This process helps protect pipes and fixtures from freezing temperatures during the colder months. While fountains are turned off for the season, please remember to bring water for your pet when visiting the park.

As greenways trails and structures age, maintenance and repairs are necessary. Due to the nature of this work, the trails will occasionally need to be closed to complete this work in a safe and efficient manner.
