Coaches and or team managers, any changes in field status beyond this point will be communicated to you through your league administrator.
April 23 is Code Green, which indicates all field games and activities will be on as scheduled.

Cedar Hills Park Restrooms and Basketball Court
Due to repairs, the restrooms at Cedar Hills Park are currently closed.
The basketball court will be closed on Thursday, April 30, for striping.

Intercollegiate Rowing Competition
Lake Wheeler Park will host an intercollegiate rowing event co-sponsored by UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University women’s rowing programs.
There will be limited access from Wednesday, April 22, through Saturday, April 25.
- Boat Ramps will be closed on April 22
- Park closed to the public from Thursday, April 23, to Saturday 25.
- Spectator Event Friday and Saturday, April 24 and 25.
- $20 fee per vehicle to enter the park.
- The park will return to normal operating hours on Sunday, April 26.

Sanderford Road Pickleball Court Closure
Saturday, April 25
Due to a tournament, the pickleball courts at Sanderford Road Park will be closed on Saturday, April 25, from 7 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Optimist Community Center Closure
Due to construction, the Optimist Community Center will be closed until Monday, May 4.
All programs, rentals, athletic leagues, clinics, and other activities will be moved to Millbrook Exchange Community Center.

Construction at Durant Nature Preserve
We began construction in June 2025 and plan for it to be completed in July 2026. During construction, a portion of the Border Trail at Durant Nature Preserve will be closed and there will be, at times, temporary single lane closures at the corner of Spottswood and Welborn Streets.

Forest Ridge Park Mountain Bike Trail Update
Open
The Mountain Bike Trail at Forest Ridge Park is currently open. Please contact the park office for more information at 919-996-5800.
Mountain Bike Trail status is affected by weather and trail conditions. Please only ride dry trails and respect wildlife and other users.
For emergencies while on the trail, call 9-1-1.

Boat Launch Ramp Notice
Due to low water levels, all patrons with trailered boats are advised to use caution when attempting to launch their vessels.
It is recommended that vessels over 20ft do not attempt to launch their vessels during these conditions. Additionally, all boaters need to be aware of potential low-water hazards and exposed shorelines during this time.

Partial Reopening of Pullen Amusements Begins April 1
Beginning April 1, Pullen Park Amusements will reopen while the shoreline improvements around Lake Howell continue through August. Visitors can once again enjoy their favorite rides and attractions this spring and summer.

The dog park at Moore Square is temporarily closed as we prepare for exciting improvements.
The temporary pop-up dog park closed in August 2025, and we anticipate our brand-new permanent dog park will open in its place in Summer 2026.
