Wake Forest Road heading from Georgetown Road toward Six Forks showing the need of a sidewalk

Wake Forest Road Sidewalk Project

We are dedicated to improving pedestrian connectivity in Raleigh.

As part of the of the City's Capital Improvement Program we are installing a 5-foot-wide sidewalk along the east side of Wake Forest Road, stretching from Hodges Street to Georgetown Road. The sidewalk will feature a curb setback varying between 2 to 4 feet.

Adjustments to the sidewalk width and setback may be included in the final design to avoid significant impacts in certain areas as needed and determined by our Engineering staff.
