We need to install a stormwater system with the new sidewalk along Norris Street. The stormwater system adds a substantial amount to the scope and price of the project. In addition, we have several public utilities (water and sewer lines) that must also be avoided with the project's design. These items, along with staff turnover, have delayed this project. A new schedule is listed below.

January 16, 2026

The contractor is closing a section of Norris Street early next week and will keep it closed through mid-summer. Crews are installing a new stormwater pipe that will cross both sides of the road and connect to an existing catch basin on Glascock Street. After the work is complete, crews will repave the affected section of Norris Street.

Due to the nature of this project, there is a road closure and detour in place during the project. See below for the detour map.
