The Raleigh Planning Academy aims to empower residents on the best ways to navigate the complex world of land development and community planning. Participants will learn best practices for engaging with staff and their neighbors on rezoning and large-scale projects in their neighborhoods. The academy provides a platform to educate residents on the planning and development process and resources from Annexation to Zoning.
Course Information
The first-ever Raleigh Planning Academy will be held over four weeks during June (8, 15, 22, 29) from 6-8 p.m. at John Chavis Memorial Park. This location provides free parking and is easily accessible via transit.

Thank you for your interest in the Raleigh Planning Academy. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and live in the city of Raleigh or its extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ). Please note enrollment is limited to 20 participants. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Our goal is to have a group of participants as diverse as our city! Priority may be given to those who live in specific geographic areas, renters (as the only and primary residence), or those with experience advocating for under-invested communities.
