Build Tomorrow by Preserving the Past

Historic Preservation Planning in Raleigh

Guide the Future of Preservation Planning

The City of Raleigh is building its Historic Preservation Plan, and we want to hear from you!

Historic preservation is a conversation between our past and our future. It guides decisions and actions that protect and renew spaces that are important to us. Preservation celebrates these places in a way that lets them be a part of our environment and conversations today. We need to hear what buildings, places, stories, traditions you value.

Come Share Your History With Us

We’re planning two in-person events for November 17 and 19, 2026. Come learn more about the project and preservation program in Raleigh. We want a chance to hear about the stories, places, and resources that are important to you. Tell us how you want to see preservation planning work impact Raleigh’s future!

Both events will feature the same information. Choose the one works best for you. Each event will start with a short presentation. You are welcome to come and go at any time during the event.
