We are building a pedestrian bridge that spans over Wade Avenue/I440 and a new multi-use path along Blue Ridge Road from just north of Trinity Road to Reedy Creek Road. The project also includes Raleigh's first protected intersection.

Construction is underway on this project. There may be intermittent lane closures as the work progresses.
 

West Young Street, Rolesville

Water Distribution will close northbound West Young Street in Rolesville due to a water lateral leak. Southbound West Young Street will remain open.

Detours: Traffic traveling south on Main Street to Rogers Road will make a right on Rogers Road to Granite Falls Boulevard. Then a right on Granite Falls Boulevard back to West Young Street.

Raleigh Water's Sewer Maintenance Division will be performing a sanitary sewer main repair.

There will be a lane closure on the 3500 Block of Lake Woodard Drive.

A flagging operation will be in place throughout the duration of the repair. The 3500 block of Lake Woodard Drive will be reduced to one lane, beginning at Bastion Lane and extending to just beyond 3505 Lake Woodard Dr. 

Motorists traveling through the area should use caution.

Raleigh Water Sewer Maintenance Division will be making emergency repairs to the sewer collection system at the 1700 Block of Scales Street.

DETOUR: 
Scales Street will be closed from Fairview Road to West Whitaker Mill Road.

Traffic traveling on Fairview Road will not be allowed to turn onto Scales Street. Motorists will need to turn right onto Duncan Street, then left onto Sunset Drive, which returns them to W. Whitaker Mill Road.

Traffic traveling west on W. Whitaker Mill Road will not be allowed to turn onto Scales Street. Motorists will be detoured left onto Sunset Drive, then right onto Duncan Street, and right onto Fairview Road, which returns them to Scales Street.

There should be no interruptions to the surrounding areas water/sewer services.

Crews are actively working on the Atlantic Avenue Improvement Project. There may be temporary lane closures and traffic shifts during this work. For your safety and that of the construction crews, please slow down and follow the flagger's instructions while driving through the construction zone. 

Please note: there is a road closure starting June 23, 2026, on New Hope Church Road associated with the NCDOT project at the New Hope Church Road railroad crossing.

Plan ahead if traveling on S. Person Street in downtown Raleigh. A lane closure may cause traffic impacts and delays.

Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 14-15 | 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

S. Person Street: Between E. Hargett Street and E. Martin Street

One lane will remain open during work hours. No street parking will be available. Drivers should slow down, use alternate routes when possible and use caution around the work zone.

A section of the Crabtree Creek Greenway Trail near Lassiter Mill is not currently closed but is expected to close in the coming weeks through spring 2028. The closure is necessary to protect the public during streambank stabilization and trail improvements, including realigning the trail beneath the Lassiter Mill Road bridge to provide a safer, more convenient route for greenway users. A section of the Turkey Creek Trail at Umstead State Park is closed for a bridge replacement project. During this time, access between Umstead State Park, the Crabtree Creek Trail and the parking lot located at 4924 Ebenezer Church Road, will remain open. Be advised that users will not be able to go north into Umstead State Park along the Turkey Creek Trail from the Crabtree Creek Trail. This project is being coordinated by North Carolina State Parks.

Do not use Ebenezer Church Road as access to the trail systems. Ebenezer Church Road is a busy vehicular road with a speed limit of 45 mph. For your safety, do not cross the construction barricades.

A section of the Neuse River Trail from Buffaloe Road Athletic Park to River Bend Park, is closed for a sewer improvement project. Additionally, the access points to the trail at Buffaloe Road Athletic and River Bend Parks are closed. As part of the Upper West Neuse Interceptor project, approximately 11,400 linear feet of existing 48-inch sewer along the western side of the Neuse River from Beaverdam Creek to north of I-540 will be replaced.
