We are building a pedestrian bridge that spans over Wade Avenue/I440 and a new multi-use path along Blue Ridge Road from just north of Trinity Road to Reedy Creek Road. The project also includes Raleigh's first protected intersection.

Construction is underway on this project. There may be intermittent lane closures as the work progresses.
 

Raleigh Water Sewer Maintenance Division will be making emergency repairs to the sewer collection system at the 1700 Block of Scales Street.

DETOUR: 
Scales Street will be closed from Fairview Road to West Whitaker Mill Road.

Traffic traveling on Fairview Road will not be allowed to turn onto Scales Street. Motorists will need to turn right onto Duncan Street, then left onto Sunset Drive, which returns them to W. Whitaker Mill Road.

Traffic traveling west on W. Whitaker Mill Road will not be allowed to turn onto Scales Street. Motorists will be detoured left onto Sunset Drive, then right onto Duncan Street, and right onto Fairview Road, which returns them to Scales Street.

There should be no interruptions to the surrounding areas water/sewer services.

Plan ahead if traveling on Hargett Street in downtown Raleigh. A full road closure may cause traffic impacts and delays.

Monday, Sept. 21, at 7 a.m., through Friday, Oct. 2, at 5 p.m.

Hargett Street: Between Person Street and S. Bloodworth Street

The road will be closed, with a detour in place to Person Street and S. Bloodworth Street. Local traffic and deliveries will be allowed. Drivers should slow down, follow posted detours and use caution around the work zone.

Plan ahead if traveling on St. Marys Street between Craig Street and Harvey Street. A full street closure will be in place for sewer system repairs, which may cause traffic impacts and delays.

Thursday, Sept. 24, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

St. Marys Street: Between Craig Street and Harvey Street

City of Raleigh Sewer Maintenance crews will be working in the area to make repairs to the sewer collection system. No interruption to surrounding water or sewer services is anticipated. Drivers should use alternate routes when possible, follow all posted signage and detours, and use caution around the work zone.

West Young Street, Rolesville

Water Distribution will close northbound West Young Street in Rolesville due to a water lateral leak. Southbound West Young Street will remain open.

Detours: Traffic traveling south on Main Street to Rogers Road will make a right on Rogers Road to Granite Falls Boulevard. Then a right on Granite Falls Boulevard back to West Young Street.

Raleigh Water's Sewer Maintenance Division will be performing a sanitary sewer main repair.

There will be a lane closure on the 3500 Block of Lake Woodard Drive.

A flagging operation will be in place throughout the duration of the repair. The 3500 block of Lake Woodard Drive will be reduced to one lane, beginning at Bastion Lane and extending to just beyond 3505 Lake Woodard Dr. 

Motorists traveling through the area should use caution.

Plan ahead if traveling on S. Person Street in downtown Raleigh. A lane closure may cause traffic impacts and delays.

Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 14-15 | 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

S. Person Street: Between E. Hargett Street and E. Martin Street

One lane will remain open during work hours. No street parking will be available. Drivers should slow down, use alternate routes when possible and use caution around the work zone.

Plan ahead if traveling on S. Person Street between E. Morgan Street and E. Martin Street. Lane closures may cause traffic impacts and delays.

Wednesday, Sept. 23, and Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

S. Person Street: Between E. Morgan Street and E. Martin Street

One lane will remain open during work hours, and street parking will not be allowed. Construction crews will be working in the roadway. Drivers should slow down, follow posted traffic advisories, use alternate routes when possible and use caution around the work zone.

Crews are actively working on the Atlantic Avenue Improvement Project. There may be temporary lane closures and traffic shifts during this work. For your safety and that of the construction crews, please slow down and follow the flagger's instructions while driving through the construction zone. 

Please note: there is a road closure starting June 23, 2026, on New Hope Church Road associated with the NCDOT project at the New Hope Church Road railroad crossing.
