    Blue Ridge Road Bike-Ped Project - Construction Activity

    We are dedicated to improving bicycle and pedestrian connectivity in Raleigh.

    We are building a pedestrian bridge that spans over Wade Avenue/I440 and a new multi-use path along Blue Ridge Road from just north of Trinity Road to Reedy Creek Road. The project also includes Raleigh's first protected intersection.

    Construction is underway on this project. There may be intermittent lane closures as the work progresses.

    E. Martin, S. Person Streets to Close for Capital Improvement Project Work

    As part of a Capital Improvement Project, several road and intersection closures will be in effect along E. Martin Street and S. Person Street.

    The intersection of E. Martin Street and S. Person Street will be fully closed Sunday, June 7, through Friday, June 12.

    The 300 block of S. Person Street between E. Martin Street and E. Davie Street will be fully closed beginning Monday, June 8, at 6 p.m.

    The 200 block of E. Martin Street between S. Person Street and Blake Street will be fully closed Sunday, June 7, through Friday, June 12, at 5 p.m.

    Detours will be in place during all closures, and crews will continue working in the area. Motorists should expect delays, use alternate routes when possible and use caution in work zones.

    The City thanks residents and visitors for their patience as these improvements are completed.

    E Cabarrus, S Person closure begins June 5

    A full intersection closure is scheduled at E Cabarrus Street and S Person Street on Friday, June 5, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. as part of a Capital Improvement Project. The intersection will be closed to through traffic during this time, and a detour will be in place. Crews also will be working along E Cabarrus Street and S Person Street. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes if possible.

    A full road closure also is scheduled for the 300 block of E Cabarrus Street, between S Person Street and S Bloodworth Street, from Friday, June 5, at 7 a.m. through Friday, June 12, at 5 p.m. The road will remain closed until work is completed. Local traffic will be allowed for driveway access only. A detour will be in place, and crews will be working in the area. Motorists should use caution, expect delays, and plan extra travel time.

    Person Street Closures

    South Person Street will be closed between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and East Davie Street (200 Block).

    Intersections at East South Street, East Lenoir Street, and East Cabarrus Street will also be closed, so you’ll want to plan a different route. Expect some delays if you usually drive through this area.

    Street Closures in Downtown Raleigh for a Water and Sewer Project

    A lane closure will be in place in the 100 block of South Wilmington Street, with lanes open. Motorists are urged to follow posted signs, drive carefully through work zones and consider alternate routes.     Intersection of Lenior Street and Fayetteville Street

    Water Valve Repair:
    Intersection of Lenior Street and Fayetteville Street

    Raleigh Water Distribution crews will be completing a valve inspection project.

    DETOUR:
    Motorists will be detoured from S. Wilmington Street: turn left onto E. Davie Street, then left onto S. Salisbury Street.

    Motorists heading south on S. Salisbury Street will turn left onto W. South Street, then left onto S. Wilmington Street.

    Motorists traveling south on Fayetteville Street from E. Davie Street will need to follow the detour to exit Fayetteville Street.

    Raleigh Water is currently setting up the work zone and work until 4 p.m. today (5/18) and begin again tomorrow (5/19) from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.

    UPDATE: Work will continue on Lenior Street throughout this afternoon (5/19). Concrete will be poured into the work area around 5 p.m. and result in a traffic change. Westbound Lenoir Street will stay closed until Friday (5/22) at 8 a.m. New detours will be put into place.

    Fayetteville St will be opened at approximately 5pm but motorists traveling South on Fayetteville St will have to turn left onto Lenoir St. The detour will remain in place which is as follows:

    S.Wilmington St, then left onto E. Davie St, followed by another left onto S. Salisbury St.

    Wilmington, Hargett Street Night Work Scheduled

    A partial intersection closure will be in place at Wilmington Street and Hargett Street from Wednesday, May 20, through Thursday, May 21, and again Monday, May 25, through Friday, June 19, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly as part of a Capital Improvement Project. One lane will remain open through the intersection while crews also work along Hargett Street. Motorists are urged to follow posted signs, drive carefully through work zones and consider alternate routes. The city thanks residents and visitors for their patience as crews make these improvements.

    Sewer Main Repair on Furches Street

    The Sewer Maintenance Division is currently performing a sewer main repair on the 400 block of Furches Street. 

    DETOUR:

    Furches Street will be closed from Faircloth Street to Ruffin Street.
     
    Traffic will not be allowed to turn off Faircloth Street onto Furches Street. Motorists need to turn onto Ruffin Street then back to Furches.
