Ways to Participate in City Government

Engage with Raleigh!

Find Ways to Participate in City Government

Provide input online through engage.raleighnc.gov

We want to hear from you.  Engage Raleigh is the City’s online engagement platform. Learn about active city projects and share your feedback. Online feedback is a simple way to provide meaningful feedback that staff uses to inform leadership of public desires.

Participate with Boards and Commissions

Many recommendations and decisions are formed through Boards and Commissions. You can attend a meeting and provide public comment, or you can apply to be a Board or Commission member.

Participate at a City Council Meeting

The Raleigh City Council provides a “Public Comment” portion at each bi-monthly Council meeting. The meetings are held every first and third Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. You must sign up in advance to speak.

Other Ways to Participate

Learn how City government works

Attend the Raleigh Neighborhood College where students get an inside look at the services and programs offered by the City of Raleigh and Wake County. Many graduates serve as a resource for their neighbors or go on to become leaders in local neighborhood organizations and government boards and commissions.

Volunteer with the City of Raleigh

Volunteer Raleigh connects people to volunteer opportunities within City departments, City-funded agencies and organizations that provide services to enhance the quality of life for our neighborhoods and communities.
