Closures and Detours

Crews are actively working on the Atlantic Avenue Improvement Project. There may be temporary lane closures and traffic shifts during this work. For your safety and that of the construction crews, please slow down and follow the flagger's instructions while driving through the construction zone. 

Please note: there is a road closure starting June 23, 2026, on New Hope Church Road associated with the NCDOT project at the New Hope Church Road railroad crossing.

A westbound lane closure will be in place on W. Cabarrus St. near 603 W. Cabarrus St. as crews complete a sewer lateral repair. The closure is expected to remain in place until approximately 9 p.m.

Motorists should follow posted traffic signs, expect delays and use alternate routes when possible. No water or sewer service interruptions are expected. The City thanks residents and visitors for their patience.
