Drivers should plan for overnight detours next week as Raleigh Water crews work on a water system improvement project in downtown Raleigh.
The work will affect the 100 block of East Martin Street, between South Wilmington and South Blount streets, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly starting Sunday, Jan. 4, through Friday, Jan. 9, weather permitting. Please follow all posted traffic signage.
Benefits: The project is part of Raleigh Water’s ongoing efforts to upgrade aging infrastructure, helping improve system reliability, reduce the risk of future water main breaks and better support growth in the downtown area.
Work is temporary and no water service interruptions are expected.
Raleigh Water thanks residents and drivers for their patience as crews work to complete the project safely and as quickly as possible.
