The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, the City of Raleigh, the Town of Cary, Wake County, the North Carolina State Wolfline and other Wake County municipalities are working together to prepare a long-term Capital Area Bus Transit Development Plan and a GoRaleigh Short Range Plan. This process started back in the early 2010s.

Wake Transit Plan

Wake County has more than a million residents, and that number grows by more than 60 people per day. With them comes congestion. The Wake Transit Plan expands access and opportunities and helps connect more people to jobs, schools, entertainment. As part of the plan, Raleigh has added express routes to Knightdale, Garner and Rolesville and is working on Bus Rapid Transit.
