The Raleigh’s City Council set a goal of an 80 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from 2007 levels by the year 2050. We are working to achieve this goal through our Community Climate Action Plan. We are also helping Raleigh’s communities prepare for the effects of climate change.

Bio-Energy Project to Fuel Up to 50 Buses a Year
The City is currently building a Bio-Energy Facility, to convert solid waste into a renewable natural gas (RNG) for City buses.

Rainwater Rewards Program
The Rain Water Rewards program provides funding for projects that capture and clean rainwater before it goes into storm drains and local waterways. You can receive up to 90 percent reimbursement for a project.
