Raleigh’s public art program is a creative force that brings together artists and communities to build a connected and engaged city.  

The program supports creation and participation in public art — connecting artists, creative professionals, communities, and City agencies; strengthening Raleigh’s creative community; and supporting an equitable, vibrant, and meaningful public life. 

Percent for Public Art Program

Raleigh's Percent for Art Program (PA) reserves 1% of eligible construction project budgets for public art. 

Raleigh has completed 15 Percent for Art projects. Currently, there are 24 new public art projects in development across the City connected to construction projects. In total, 47 artists, including 27 local artists, have been selected for PA public art projects.

Municipal Art Collection

The Municipal Art Collection holds more than 700 fine art and public art pieces by local, state, and national artists.

More than 40 works of public art are displayed  in public buildings, parks, and other city-owned property.
