Administrative Charges

The City of Raleigh bills administrative charges to all utility customers based on water and waste water services provided.

Administrative charges cover these important components:

  • Billing - This portion is based on the costs associated with the Meter Operations Division and the Customer Care and Billing Division of Raleigh Water.
  • Readiness to Serve - This portion is based on some of the costs for Capital Improvements, Administrative and Utilities Support functions.  In other words, this component partially funds maintenance of the infrastructure required to provide utility services to each customer.
