This project is in the construction phase and will replace approximately 26,000 feet of 48- and 54-inch sanitary sewer pipe with 60- and 66-inch pipe primarily along the west side of the Neuse River from
Anderson Point Park to Alvis Farm. (map)
The project is expected to be completed in two years.
A sewer interceptor is a piece of a sewer network used to control the flow of wastewater. Interceptors receive this wastewater flow from interconnecting sewer lines and sometimes from storm water runoff. This wastewater flow is then directed to a wastewater treatment plant for filtration and disinfection.
