This project is in the design phase and will replace approximately 26,000 feet of existing 48- and 54-inch sanitary sewer pipe with 60- and 66-inch pipe along the west side of the Neuse River. The project will be located upstream from the Neuse River Pump Station.
The project is expected to be completed in two years.
A sewer interceptor is a piece of a sewer network used to control the flow of wastewater. Interceptors receive this wastewater flow from interconnecting sewer lines and sometimes from storm water runoff. This wastewater flow is then directed to a wastewater treatment plant for filtration and disinfection.
