Valley Drive Sidewalk Project

We are installing a new sidewalk!

The Valley Drive Sidewalk Project was the product of two successful City of Raleigh Sidewalk Petitions. One was received in the summer of 2018 and the other was received in the winter of 2019.

The City has decided to combine the two successful petitions and complete the petitioned sidewalk improvements as one project.  We plan to install a sidewalk along the east side of the street from existing sidewalk beyond Hatherleigh Court to Lynn Road.

    Add to Calendar 2023-12-12 17:30:00 2023-12-12 19:00:00 Valley Drive Sidewalk Project Public Meeting The City plans to install a sidewalk on east side of Valley Drive from the existing sidewalk beyond Hatherleigh Court to Lynn Road.  We are having a drop-in style meeting on December 12, from 5:30-7 p.m., at the Optimist Community Center. The meeting is a great opportunity for residents to see the plans and ask questions about the project.  City staff will be on hand to talk with residents about the project, but no formal presentation will be made. City Council has authorized staff to design and construct the sidewalk improvements as funding and staff resources become available.

The sidewalk project is currently awaiting funding allocation for the official design and construction. Project timeline scheduling has not been determined. Design

We have finished the project's early design and will hold a public meeting on Nov. 12, from 5:30-7:00 p.m., at the Optimist Community Center.

The meeting will be drop-in style and is an excellent opportunity for residents to see the early design plans and ask questions about the project. City staff will be on hand to talk with residents, but no formal presentation will be given.

Not able to attend the meeting? That's ok. The week of the meeting we will post the design map, a presentation for you to view and a comment form for any questions you may have.
