Crabtree Valley Sewer Improvements

Improvement project will replace aging materials to meet future infrastructure capacity demand.

This project includes approximately 15,000 linear feet of 36-inch, 42-inch, 48-inch and 54-inch gravity sewer line extending along Crabtree Creek from the Crabtree Basin sewer improvements project at Mine Creek to just east of Duraleigh Road. The alignment includes six trenchless crossings; one beneath Glenwood Avenue, another beneath Blue Ridge Road, another beneath Creedmoor Road, and three along Crabtree Creek. History

A sewer capacity study identified a portion of the Crabtree Basin sewer near the Crabtree Valley Mall as an area in which the existing system was not adequately sized to meet future flow conditions. Improvements for providing additional system capacity required to convey the future sewer flows were developed for this portion of the Crabtree Basin sewer line. These improvements were identified in the City of Raleigh's Capital Improvement Program as the "Crabtree Valley Sewer Replacement" project.
