Sewer Aerials

Water and Sewer

Aerials Replacement Project

Improvement project will replace aging materials to meet future infrastructure capacity demand.

When a sewer line is installed above ground, it is known as an aerial sewer. These are typical when a sewer passes over geographical features like ravines, streams, wetlands, or other low-lying areas where it is not feasible to bury the line.
This work consists of aerial sewer lines across two different projects in six locations—three in Raleigh, two in Wake Forest, and one in Wendell—that are nearing the end of their service lives.
