On Dec. 11, 2024, the North Carolina General Assembly passed Session Law 2024-57 (originally called SB 382). The legislation includes revisions to North Carolina General Statute 160D-Local Planning and Development Regulation that impact local government authority. These revisions impact the City of Raleigh’s Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) amendments going back to June 14, 2024, that pertain to nonconformities and downzoning. Planning and Development is working to update the UDO and will have all changes incorporated as soon as practicable. The following text changes have been adopted and remain in effect but have not been incorporated into the document linked below: TC-4-24 Temporary and Accessory Emergency Shelters; TC-5-24 Cameron Park Name Change; TC-6-23 Streetscape and Signage Plans; TC-1(B)-24 Stormwater Design Manual Updates - Related Changes.
