Drivers in Raleigh should expect some traffic changes downtown while crews work on a water and sewer improvement project at the intersection of East Hargett Street and South Wilmington Street.
E. Hargett St. and S. Wilmington St. intersection – overnight closures
One lane will stay open on S. Wilmington Street for local traffic so parking garages are still accessible.
Overnight detours (March 31–April 10, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.)
• Northbound on South Wilmington Street:
→ Turn left onto East Martin Street
→ Turn right onto South McDowell Street
→ Turn right onto East Morgan Street
→ Turn left onto S Wilmington
• Eastbound on East Hargett Street:
→ Turn left onto South McDowell Street
→ Turn right onto East Morgan Street
→ Turn right onto Blount Street
→ Turn left onto East Hargett Street
• Westbound on East Hargett Street:
→ Turn left onto Blount Street
→ Turn right onto East Martin Street
→ Turn right onto South McDowell Street
→ Turn left onto East Hargett Street
Give yourself a little extra time, follow all posted signs, and drive safely through the detours. Streets will reopen outside of work hours.
