Repurpose Trash into Fashion and Win

The 2024 Trashion Competition is accepting entries.

Do you have an eye for fashion? Applications are now being accepted for the 2024 Trashion Competition. The Solid Waste Services Trashion Competition and show are part of the City of Raleigh's Environmental Awards. The annual competition highlights recycled garments and accessories created by students and aspiring designers in the Raleigh area. Winners receive a prize and showcase their unique and recycled-inspired garments created from items usually tossed in the recycling cart.

The deadline to enter is March 1. Residents in the Solid Waste Services utility service areas may enter. This includes Raleigh, Garner, Rolesville, Knightdale, Wendell, and Zebulon. Judges will evaluate entries based on their originality, functionality, and quality of construction. Submissions must contain at least 75% of recyclable materials accepted by the City of Raleigh’s recycling program. For more information about all the Environmental Award categories and to apply, please visit RaleighNC.gov and search “2024 Environmental Awards”.
