Citizen Advisory Councils (CACs)

Raleigh CACs are a connecting point between municipal government and residents. They provide a way for the City to share information about government activities and to receive feedback from the communities.

The City of Raleigh created CACs in 1973 and 1974. They were established to help educate residents about city government and to provide better representation and input in City decisions. The first CAC officers were installed in February of 1974.

Hillsborough-Wade CAC

The Hillsborough-Wade CAC (Citizen Advisory Council) focuses on community engagement that connects Raleigh residents with the City of Raleigh. Our meetings often involve City staff making presentations on issues that the City of Raleigh wants residents to know about. Our meetings provide an excellent opportunity for two-way communication and the sharing of ideas between local government and residents. Our CAC board is elected by and made up of residents who live within our CAC boarders (part of west Raleigh inside the belt-line). Meetings occur on the fourth Tuesday of each month, either on Zoom or in-person at a Raleigh park facility.
