Art Programs for Youth, Teens, & Families

Pullen Arts Center offers one-day workshops and multi-week art classes for youth, teens, and families throughout the year in bookmaking, drawing, jewelry, painting, pottery, printmaking, and more!

Artist Studio Summer Camp

Register now for Artist Studio Summer Camp. The Artist Studio is an art-based day camp that provides teens (ages 11-16) with the opportunity for skill-building and creative exploration in a professional studio setting using studio equipment and tools.

Creative Aging

Who are We? Raleigh’s People in Portraits is a 12-week skill-building portrait-making course for adults aged 55 years and older. In the program, participants learn skills needed to draw and paint faces, explore contemporary self-portraiture and self-portraits through history, and ultimately tell their own story through creation of a self-portrait. Stay tuned for more information on Fall 2021’s program.

Studios

Raleigh residents and non-residents can take part in our studio programs by taking classes or by purchasing a studio membership that will allow them to work independently when classes are not in session.

Studio Membership

Participants are eligible to purchase a studio membership after they have completed a qualifying beginning-level class. All pre-construction studio members must take a studio orientation or a beginning level class in the new studios prior to purchasing a new membership. If it has been over 5 years since you have held membership or taken a qualifying class, you must take a qualifying class again to be eligible. Studio memberships are available for:

  • Bookmaking & Printmaking Studio
  • Jewelry Studio
  • Pottery Studio

Gallery Exhibitions

Pullen Arts Center’s Gallery showcases works by emerging local artists and professional local, regional, and nationally acclaimed artists. With the goals of providing artists with meaningful opportunities to gain experience exhibiting and to discover the works of other artists, our gallery is an important component of the community arts education experience at Pullen.

Gallery exhibitions are free and open to the public during Pullen Arts Center's normal operating hours.

Gallery Spaces

  • Main Gallery | This second floor gallery features 5 - 7 artists for 2 - 3 months at a time.
  • Youth Gallery | This first floor features works by artists 17 years old and younger.
  • Chalk Wall Murals | Located at our first floor entrance, a new artist will create a chalk mural every 2 - 3 months.

May/June Exhibitions

Pullen Arts Center's gallery spaces feature a group art show exhibiting nine artists working in various mediums. Their works will be on display from May 7 through June 25, 2022.
