Raleigh Water maintains public pump stations in their service areas in the City of Raleigh and Merger Towns, including Garner, Knightdale, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell, and Zebulon and Wake County. The Development Review Group and Resource Recovery Facilities Team are teaming up on the review process.
Public Pump Station Submittals:
All pump stations must meet the guidelines set forth in this Handbook and the most
recent version of Minimum Design Criteria for the Fast-Track Permitting of Pump
Stations and Force Mains as published by NCDENR; whichever is most stringent.

Private Pump Stations Submittals:
Must be submitted as part of a Merger Town Construction Drawing (MRCP) or Raleigh (SPR) Plan.
- Must provide Peak and average daily flow calculations.
- The engineer or designer must seal the plans for the private pump station and certify the station.
- Must be equipped with a sign indicating a twenty-four (24) hour call service number, the current or proposed owner, and the party responsible for maintenance.
