The Raleigh Water service area is a growing system that contains over 2,500 miles of water and 2,700 miles of sewer. This utility is at the forefront of new technology to make our system resilient for the future and incorporate products into our design standards and design manual.

Raleigh Water is providing this formal submittal process for vendors who would like to present their products to cross-divisional representatives. The products that are submitted must be utilized in the Water, Sewer, Reuse, or Meter infrastructure.

Product Review Evaluation

Product Selection Process

The evaluation process takes place on a quarterly basis, and when deemed appropriate by the internal committee, the selected vendor will be invited to present their product. If the product is chosen, a trial period may follow. Upon completion of this trial, a decision will be made regarding the integration of the product into our system. 

Once a product is approved, it will be added to Appendix G—Approved Products List within the Design Manual. 

All products listed in the approved products list are recognized as approved. Any comparable product must undergo the evaluation process to be considered and can be included as an equivalent product once it has been verified. 

The evaluation criteria include material and quality specifications, among other considerations.
