Starting Sept. 1, a three-percent fee will apply when you pay your City of Raleigh utility bill with a credit, debit, and digital wallets (PayPal, PayPal Credit, and Venmo) transactions.
The below methods will not incur a processing fee:
- eCheck: one-time payment or Autopay through checking or savings account
- Cash: pay in person at an official payment location
- Check: mail your check or bring it to an official payment location
Where does the fee go?
Not to us! These charges come directly from credit card companies. We accept credit cards for your convenience. The City works hard with our payment vendor to negotiate the lowest possible rates based on industry standards, ensuring the process is as affordable as possible for those who choose to pay by card.
Please note: The three-percent processing fee is set by the payment processor and may change over time.
