A New Way to Manage Your Utility Account

Introducing "Raleigh Water Self-Service"

Raleigh Water Self-Service Update - Dec. 8

  • We are working diligently to improve the registration process in the new Raleigh Water Self-Service portal.
  • If you have already registered, you can login as needed. If you previously had issues registering, you will be contacted by email with additional information. Peek in your spam/junk folder. It sometimes gets lost in there.
  • If you need to make a one-time payment, you can do so through our Pay as Guest option or through our over the phone service 888-905-3169.
  • Please check back on the site for additional status updates. Should you have any questions, please contact raleighwaterselfservice@raleighnc.gov.
  • Late fees and service disconnections are suspended until further notice.

Introducing the New Raleigh Water Self-Service!

  • Raleigh Water has launched a new online portal, Raleigh Water Self-Service.
  • All online users will need to create a new account.
  • AutoPay customers must re-enroll in AutoPay.
  • Watch for updates regarding in-person help sessions to be scheduled
  • Late fees and service disconnections are suspended until further notice.

With the new portal, you'll be able to pay your bill, update your information, and request services anytime, anywhere.

We're also introducing a new "My Request" feature to help us better track your requests. For customers with multiple accounts, the new portal will make it easier to group, nickname, and share them.

Raleigh Water Self-Service Billing Portal: Account Setup in Minutes!

What You Will Need

When creating a new account, you will need the following:

  • Your zip code;
  • An email;
  • A mobile phone number (used for verification); and,
  • Your account number.

Your account number can be found on your monthly bill:

  • It is listed on your paper bill.
  • If you don't have access to your most recent statement (printed copy or an email,) that's okay! The easiest solution is to simply wait and complete your registration once your next bill comes in.
  • For autopay users, it is listed in your monthly email titled "City of Raleigh - A Friendly Reminder Your Bill is Due."
  • For manual pay users, it is listed in your monthly email titled "City of Raleigh - Utility Bill is Available."

What to Know

  • AutoPay users must re-enroll. If you currently use autopay, you will need to sign up for it again in the new portal before your next payment is due or plan to pay a different way. No action is required for customers who pay through their bank's bill-pay service. Your current setup will continue to work without any changes.
  • AutoPay Schedules: Please note once your newly set up AutoPay is active, it will immediately begin processing new charges. Any charges due before your upcoming due date or past due amounts will be included automatically starting with your next billing cycle.
  • Multiple payment options will still be available. You will still be able to pay by mail, in person at our downtown Raleigh office, or at any community town hall in one of our merger communities (Garner, Knightdale, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell or Zebulon) or at your local Walmart.
  • Get hands-on help. We will host community events to provide hands-on assistance and answer your questions about the new portal. Check back here for updates.
  • Late Fees and Service Disconnections are suspended until further notice.
