A New Way to Manage Your Utility Account

Introducing "Raleigh Water Self-Service"

On Nov. 12, Raleigh Water will launch an upgraded customer utility billing portal called "Raleigh Water Self-Service." The new portal is designed to make managing your account(s) faster, smarter, and more secure.

When the new portal launches on Nov. 12, the link to the new portal will be posted on this page as well as on other Raleigh Water pages.

How does this affect you?

Before Nov. 7
Bills due on or before Nov. 7 will draft as usual.

Nov. 7-11
You won’t be able to make a utility payment online or in person. No late-fees will be charged.

Nov. 10-11
The call center will be closed.

Nov. 12, 8:30 a.m.
The new portal will be available, and payments will be accepted.

On or after Nov. 12
All current portal users will need to create a new account using the new portal and, if applicable, re-enroll in autopay.

Autopay users must re-enroll.

Late fees and service disconnections will be suspended beginning Nov. 7 until further notice.

With the new portal, you'll be able to pay your bill, update your information, and request services anytime, anywhere.

We're also introducing a new "My Request" feature to help us better track your requests. For customers with multiple accounts, the new portal will make it easier to group, nickname, and share them.

What to Know

  • Nov. 12: Get ready! Our new utility billing portal goes live on Nov. 12. We'll send you a reminder, but go ahead and mark your calendar now.
  • Autopay users must re-enroll. If you currently use autopay, you will need to sign up for it again on or after Nov. 12 in the new portal before your next payment is due or plan to pay a different way. No action is required for customers who pay through their bank's bill-pay service. Your current setup will continue to work without any changes.
  • Get hands-on help. We will host community events in November and December to provide hands-on assistance and answer your questions about the new portal. View the schedule below.
  • Multiple payment options will still be available. You will still be able to pay by mail, in person at our downtown Raleigh office, or at any community town hall in one of our merger communities (Garner, Knightdale, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell or Zebulon) or at your local Walmart.
  • System Maintenance: Please note that you will not be able to make a payment using any method between Nov. 7 and Nov. 11. The call center will be closed Nov. 10-11.
  • Late Fees and Service Disconnections will be suspended beginning Nov. 7 until further notice.

We're Here to Help

We're ready to answer any questions you may have. Email your questions to RaleighWaterSelfService@raleighnc.gov.

You won't be able to create a new account until the new portal launches, but we've already put together a new portal FAQ page to answer questions that you might have when the time comes.
