Introducing the New Raleigh Water Self-Service!

  • Raleigh Water has launched a new online portal, Raleigh Water Self-Service.
  • All online users will need to create a new account.
  • AutoPay customers must re-enroll in AutoPay.
  • Scroll down to find an in-person help session or drop-in session. We have several scheduled in January and February 2026.
  • Late fees and service disconnections for non-payment will be reinstated on March 2, 2026.

With the new portal, you'll be able to pay your bill, update your information, and request services anytime, anywhere.

We're also introducing a new "My Request" feature to help us better track your requests. For customers with multiple accounts, the new portal will make it easier to group, nickname, and share them.

Raleigh Water Self-Service Billing Portal: Account Setup in Minutes!

What You Will Need

When creating a new account, you will need the following:

  • Your zip code;
  • An email;
  • A mobile phone number (used for verification); and,
  • Your account number.

Your account number can be found on your monthly bill:

  • It is listed on your paper bill.
  • If you don't have access to your most recent statement (printed copy or an email,) that's okay! The easiest solution is to simply wait and complete your registration once your next bill comes in.
  • For autopay users, it is listed in your monthly email titled "City of Raleigh - A Friendly Reminder Your Bill is Due."
  • For manual pay users, it is listed in your monthly email titled "City of Raleigh - Utility Bill is Available."

What to Know

  • Bank Bill-pay vs. AutoPay
    • Bank Bill-pay refers to payments arranged with your bank that are directly withdrawn from your bank account. No action is required for customers who pay through their bank's bill-pay service. Your current setup will continue to work without any changes. The new portal should not affect your automatic bank drafts.
    • AutoPay refers to accounts set up on the previous Raleigh Water portal that automatically pay the utility bill.
  • AutoPay users must re-enroll. If you currently use autopay, you will need to sign up for it again in the new portal before your next payment is due or plan to pay a different way.
  • AutoPay Schedules: Once your AutoPay is active, it will process all new charges, including any past-due amounts, starting with your next billing cycle. With late fees and suspensions resuming March 2, verify your current balance—especially if recent payments haven’t been made.
    • Need help to pay a larger than normal outstanding balance? Call our team to arrange a payment plan.
  • Multiple payment options are still available. You are still able to pay by mail, in person at our downtown Raleigh office, or at any community town hall in one of our merger communities (Garner, Knightdale, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell or Zebulon) or at your local Walmart.
  • Get hands-on help. We are hosting community events to provide hands-on assistance and answer your questions about the new portal. Scroll down to find the list of dates and locations. We have several scheduled in January and February 2026. For the drop in or "office hours" sessions, customers are able to stop in anytime between the hours listed and our team will be available to assist you.
  • Late fees and service disconnections for non-payment will be reinstated on March 2, 2026.
