2026 Water Resolutions

How to Protect our Water Resources

As we think of our New Year's resolutions and goals, how can you help protect our environment? We have a few Water Resolutions that you can try to keep our water clean in 2026!

Way You Can Help

1. Drink More Tap Water

Ditch single-use water bottles and drink tap water with a reusable bottle or cup. Raleigh's water is safe, reliable, and delicious!

2. Pick Up After Your Pet

Pick up pet waste when walking your pets. What's left behind washes straight into our creeks, streams, and rivers causing pollution.

3. Only Water Down the Drain

Never flush wipes or pour grease down the sink. Wipes, grease, and other household items can cause sewer backups and pollution.

4. Keep Storm Drains Clear

Leaves, yard waste, and trash belongs in bins, not in the street. They can block drains and pipes that cause street flooding and pollution.

Protecting Our Water Resources

Keeping our water clean and healthy takes all of us! You can volunteer to mark storm drains and clean up streams or help city staff monitor water quality in local creeks.
