Partial Reopening of Pullen Amusements Begins April 1
Beginning April 1, Pullen Park Amusement rides, attractions, playground, and amenities will reopen while work continues on the Lake Howell shoreline improvement project. We’re excited to welcome visitors back to many of the park’s favorite attractions this spring and summer.
What Visitors Can Expect
Most amusements and the main park areas will be open and operating. Visitors will see construction activity near the lake, and some brief, early morning and weekday closures may be necessary for materials delivery.
Know Before You Go
- The main entry area, playground, cafe, carousel, train, and other ticketed features will be open and accessible beginning April 1.
- The area around Lake Howell will remain closed to public access during construction, and the lake will remain drained while work is underway.
- Construction vehicles will occasionally travel between the parking lot and the work area. This will be planned and coordinated in advance to minimize impact on park visitors and operating hours.
- The train ride around the lake will not have its usual scenic lake views during construction, but riders will get a close-up look at the shoreline improvement work in progress.
What Remains Closed
- Pathways around Lake Howell
- Pedal boats
- Island gazebo
- Fountain terrace
- Shelter adjacent to Carousel (not available for rentals)
