Winter Weather Advisory - Updated Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 9:40 a.m.

The National Weather Service is monitoring a weather system that has the potential to bring snow and ice to our area Wednesday, Feb. 19. 

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM WEDNESDAY TO 10 AM THURSDAY

  • What:  mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations between 1 and 3 inches and ice accumulations around a light glaze.
  • Where:  Northern and central Piedmont 
  • When:  7 a.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday
  • Impacts:  plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes
  • Precautionary/ Preparedness Actions:  slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Inspections:  
updated Tuesday, Feb. 18 - 

Due to expected winter weather, the Customer Service Center on the 4th floor of One Exchange Plaza will be closed for in-person services on Wednesday, February 19.

Submittal online through the Permit Portal will still be available.


The following inspections have been canceled on February 19 for the City of Raleigh: 
Building  • Electrical • Mechanical • Plumbing • Zoning • Fire • Stormwater • Transportation • Housing  


We apologize for any inconvenience. We will assess impacts for Thursday, February 20 and Friday, February 21 as we monitor conditions moving forward.

Downed Trees: 

  • Emergency - If you see a tree down on a road or involving power lines, call 911
  • Non-emergency - Report downed trees that are not in the roadway nor involving power lines to 919-996-3000.
