Teen Printmaking Intensive - Screen Printing

Learn to screen print! From developing your image to creating final prints, with each step in between, we will cover it all in this four week screen printing course. Students will grow to feel confident in their printmaking skills and explore what interests them most, whether that be decorating the backgrounds they print on or learning how to layer prints to use multiple colors in one design. Discover the versatility of hinges in your jewelry designs. The hinged bracelet will incorporate several soldered hinges that reticulate the metal pieces to bend around the wrist. You will be a hinge expert by the end of this class. Create each section with any shape suitable for a hinge and decorate each with etching, stamping, a gem, or sweat soldering. A $25 supply fee is due to instructor at first class, which covers: copper sheet, copper tubing, copper wire, copper chain, sand paper, solder, gemstone, saw blades. 6 sessions. Continue to expand your skills working independently and on assigned projects to further your knowledge of jewelry techniques. Explore methods of stone-setting and hollow-form construction. Students may purchase and/or bring in their own metal for projects. Supply kits will be available for purchase from Pullen Arts Center for $25. Prerequisite: Beginning Metals at Pullen or Sertoma Arts Center. 5 sessions.

Resin is a wonderful medium that allows artists to tell a story while capturing and preserving memories. In this class students will work with 2-part epoxy resin and tinting material to fill custom fabricated vessels they will create. Students are encouraged to bring objects, ephemera, trinkets, foliage, etc. they would like to encapsulate. Students should plan to purchase a supply kit at Pullen Arts Center for approximately $25 that covers all other materials. 2 sessions. Instructor: ndidi kowalczyk.

Painting - Open Studio Lab: Painting

This open studio class will provide intermediate and advanced painting students with the space, time, and one-on-one instructor feedback necessary to grow as an artist. Students work at their own pace and bring their own supplies - all water-based mediums, including acrylic and gouache, are welcome. Class critiques will be provided on the 2nd and 4th class session. 4 sessions. Instructor: Nancy Carty.

Drawing - Intro to Still Life Drawing

Learn the basics of still life drawing in this one day workshop! We will cover everything from how to set up a still life, initial sketches, how cropping is key, and even some strategies and practices you can use when you feel stuck in your drawing practice. This class is great for beginners, or anyone who might be experiencing some art block. Feel free to bring whatever medium you enjoy the most!
