Five Areas of Funding Phased Approach Annual Reporting Give Us Your Feedback Resources

Raleigh received 73.2 million that must be spent by December 2026 through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021. It was signed into law by President Joe Biden on March 11, 2021. The results are in! We have collected responses from our community survey, and a snapshot of the results can be seen below. Results are still being accepted for the remaining $23.7 million in funds not yet appropriated.

Five Areas of Funding

There are five areas of funding that have been identified by the City of Raleigh for ARPA funds. These areas are listed below, select an area to show more details can be read about the associated expenditures.

Phased Approach

There are three phases for ARPA spending. Phase 1 and Phase 2 are complete, Phase 3 is underway.

Phase 1 — August 2021
Phase 2 — six to nine months (September 2021 – July 2022)
Phase 3 — 12+ months (July 2022 – December 2024)

Annual Reporting

The City submits an annual report to the federal government every year. This Recovery Report provides information on the recipient’s projects and how they plan to ensure program outcomes are achieved in an effective and equitable manner.

Help us rank this once-in-a-generation investment by providing comments and using this tool!

The results are in! The early collection of responses can be displayed below. There are five categories that could have been prioritized: Transit, Economic Recovery, Infrastructure, Community Health, and Housing/Homelessness.

Here are the average dollar amounts submitted by category:

  • Transit - $4 million
  • Economic Recovery - $11.9 million
  • Infrastructure - $14.7 million
  • Housing/Homelessness - $15.4 million
  • Community Health - $17.1 million
