Feel lost in the alphabet soup of LLC/INC/SP initials? We can help. In this educational LLC Workshop, attorney Charles Sexton of Eunoia Law Firm will walk participants through the key considerations involved in forming an LLC and will demonstrate the general steps in the filing process. Discussion topics will include understanding what an LLC is, when it may be the right structure for you, and what to expect when preparing and submitting formation documents. This class is for all visual and performing artists who are interested in properly structuring their businesses. This two-hour session is designed for creative entrepreneurs. It will demystify the business formation process by providing clear instructions and practical examples, allowing you to approach establishing your business with confidence. You will gain a solid overview of how the process works and learn why an LLC can be an effective structure for artists and other creative small businesses. We will explore the major components of forming a business entity, including typical next steps like obtaining an EIN, understanding operating agreements, and addressing issues common to multi-member LLCs. Charles will also cover considerations such as zoning and permitting, selecting a registered agent, and identifying professional support resources. This workshop is designed to provide creative entrepreneurs and artists—whether launching a new venture or transitioning from a sole proprietorship—with the structure, clarity, and insight needed to start their business on solid footing. Participants who complete the recommended pre-work and attend ready to learn will gain a clearer understanding of how to move forward with forming their LLC and the necessary steps to plan for next. Join us on Wednesday, February 4th, 6:00–8:00pm on Zoom, and take your next informed step toward building a sustainable creative practice. Please note: This workshop will not provide individualized legal advice or complete filings for participants, as entity formation decisions must be tailored to your specific circumstances.
