The City’s vehicle fleet currently includes more than 50 EVs. The City also operates dozens of charging stations at City offices, operations facilities, and parks. (Several hundred more are privately owned but publicly accessible and available across Raleigh.)
Two-thirds of this funding will go to sites in designated communities based on factors including income and pollution exposure. More information on the City’s EV work is available here.
Specific sites where the grant money is scheduled to be used include the following:
- Method Community Park
- Northeast Remote Operations Center, Burwell Street
- Green Road Park
- Central Operations Fuel Depot, Westinghouse Boulevard
- Future Poole Road paratransit facility (Level 2 chargers only)
- Barwell Road Park
- Pullen Park
Some of these sites already have EV chargers.
This collaborative effort is led by Fleet Management Operations and the Office of Sustainability.
