The Artists

Kevin Peddicord

Portraits, Perplexments and Other Past Peculiarities by Peddicord

Kevin calls his work “Pop Nostalgia”. He focuses on pop culture, with most of his subjects deriving from his love of comic books, cinema and music, primarily from the 1920s through the 1970s. He also finds amazing characters everywhere and enjoys bringing them into the world he creates. Humor plays a significant role in Kevin’s art. The majority of his work is oil on canvas, although some pop art works were created with acrylics.

Inspiration for Kevin’s paintings comes from film directors such as Fritz Lang, Jean Luc-Godard, Akira Kurosawa and Stanley Kubrick. In comic books, work by Gene Colan, Alex Ross and Lee Bermejo are favorites. Artists most admired are Frank Frazetta, Skip Liepke, Edward Hopper, Ben Shahn, Ralph Steadman, Gregory Manchess, James Bama and Kent Williams.

About the Artist

Kevin was born in 1962 in Washington, DC and spent his early life in Columbia, Maryland. After graduating from the University of Baltimore in 1985, he worked in graphic design. He moved to North Carolina in 1991. As a self-taught commercial illustrator, Kevin created art for NASL’s Washington Diplomats, wrestler Macho Man Randy Savage, Major League Baseball Hall of Fame player Eddie Murray, the Durham Bulls and the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes. As a painter, he has participated in solo and group shows since 2005. In 2025, Kevin’s painting “The Phallacies” was juried into the London Art Biennale, along with 349 other artists from 60 nations.

Kevin lives in Raleigh with his wife Nanette.

Brian Imfeld

Structure Engaging Spontaneity

This body of work explores the tension between spontaneity and structure. These compositions reflect how individuals attempt to control or define meaning by applying systems, sometimes geometric or symbolic, that make sense of information that is slightly beyond perception. Each piece originates from accidental imagery sourced from incidental surfaces like drop cloths. These spontaneous marks inspire imposed structures that echo the visual language of charts, graphs, and data visualization.

The work echoes the tendency to find comfort in defined parameters when confronted with ambiguity. The contrast created prompts consideration of how definitions of order are constructed, challenged, or erased to achieve harmony. Rather than prescribing a message, the work invites reflection on the viewer's own thinking about unpredictability, pattern, and meaning-making.

About the Artist

Brian Imfeld is a abstract artist and art teacher based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born in 1978 in Beaufort, South Carolina, he earned a BFA in Printmaking and a BS in Art Education from Miami University of Ohio. His abstract paintings and drawings, inspired by the balance between order and unpredictability, have been featured in solo and juried exhibitions around the United States. As the art teacher at Abbotts Creek Elementary School, Brian is passionate about engaging students and families through meaningful art experiences. He actively participates in the local art community to create opportunities for connection and creativity among artists and audiences alike.

Jeff "Sketch Guy" Rezeli

Mountains to Sea Trail Sketches

Mountains to Sea Trail Sketches is a series of daily drawings created during a 1,000-mile journey across North Carolina with my wife, Debra, completed through backpacking, day hiking, cycling, and paddling. Each sketch, made on-site over 2½ months of living outdoors, captures landmark structures, rock formations, waterfalls, and vegetation, while also reflecting the challenge of keeping a sketchbook safe and choosing the most visually compelling subject each day. I share this collection to inspire deeper appreciation for North Carolina’s rich natural resources connected by the trail.

About the Artist

Born and raised in Simsbury, Connecticut, Jeffrey Rezeli is a Raleigh based architect, adventurer, artist, husband, and father. With a lifelong interest in creative pursuits, his passion for sketching developed as a student at the NC State School (now College) of Design. Throughout his career in architecture in an increasingly digital world, sketching became a way to hone the skill of quickly and easily conveying design ideas and over the last 25 years he has compiled hundreds of pen and ink sketches from around the world. Early travels with his family often revolved around urban exploration, while more recent travel as an empty nester has embraced outdoor adventure.

Ann Haigler

Deliberate Texture

Creating by hand is a deliberate attempt at slowing down, to connect to the clay, and to take time to patiently appreciate the cycles of forming, joining, smoothing, decorating, firing, glazing, and evaluating the final form. Ann's goal is to use the process to brin a touch of texture, color, and detailed artistry into each ceramic work.

About the Artist

By manipulating slabs of clay into textural and architectural forms and adding detailed touches, Ann has discovered an artistic side that compliments her many years in technology. Her journey into ceramics started after retirement and has become a passion. The supportive Sertoma community of ceramic artists/teachers/students encourages creative growth and the slow pace of handbuilding with texture details calms the mind. She is grateful for the opportunity to make art and learn and teach in the most unique studio that is Sertoma.

Matt Murray

Everything in Between

Matt’s artwork explores the raw, shifting nature of human connection. People grow closer, drift apart, pass by each other entirely, or collide in ways that change everything. His work isn’t about the obvious moments. It’s about the ones just before and just after—the subtle spaces where everything turns. Maybe you missed a flight. You sit down at a bar, strike up a conversation with a stranger, and two years later, you’re engaged. Then life does what it does—unexpectedly, irreversibly—and five years go by without a word between you. That’s the brutality and beauty of it all. Matt’s art invites you to reflect on those invisible threads: the near-misses, the quiet decisions, the what-ifs, and the invisible weight of timing. It’s about the emotional residue left behind by connection—whether fleeting or lasting. His work captures the good, the bad, and all the complex in-betweens that make us who we are.

About the Artist

Matt discovered his love for sculpting on a rainy day. Out of sheer boredom, he grabbed a tub of water-based Play-Doh clay—and never looked back. What started as a spontaneous moment quickly became a lasting passion. Over time, he transitioned to wax-based clay and developed his technique through self-teaching and relentless curiosity. Originally from Boone, NC, raised in Chapel Hill, and now living in Raleigh, Matt finds purpose in the meditative process of sculpting—but more importantly, in using his art to give back.

For Matt, art isn’t just personal expression; it’s a tool for change. His current mission is to donate half the proceeds from his work to local charities that support children in need. He believes the most meaningful work an artist can do is create something that positively impacts others. While emotional resonance is powerful, Matt sees education—after essentials like food, water, and shelter—as the key to breaking cycles of hardship. His goal is simple: use art to fund resources and teach real, life-changing skills to the next generation.
