Hydrant Meter Rental

Hydrant Meter Rentals provide temporary drinking water services to customers within the City’s service area through connection to fire hydrants.

Commercial and Residential customers must apply for a hydrant meter before using water from a fire hydrant for construction, landscaping, demolition, street cleaning, drinking fountains for public events and other approved uses.

Fees are based on the length of use, and billing for the hydrant meter(s) will occur one time per month.

Application Process:

  • Online Contract Submission:
  • DocuSign Contract Signing:
    • After submitting the online contract, you will receive an email from DocuSign.
    • Open the email and follow the instructions to electronically sign the contract.
  • Signed Contract Confirmation:
    • Upon successfully signing the contract through DocuSign, you will receive a second email.
    • This email will contain a copy of your fully signed contract for your records.
  • Deposit Information and Payment:
    • A staff member will process your contract. 
    • You will be contacted with the required deposit amount.  If you do not hear from us within 3 business days, please call 919-996-3245.
    • This deposit must be paid prior to scheduling an equipment pickup appointment.
    • Follow the provided instructions to submit your deposit payment.
  • Equipment Pickup Scheduling and Retrieval:
    • Once your deposit payment is received, you will be scheduled for an appointment.
    • At the appointed time, visit the Hydrant meter office to pick up your assigned equipment
