Support Safer Streets This June with Raleigh Transportation and Sidewalk Sessions

Small Conversation, Big Impact On Safety

June is National Safety Month—a time dedicated to raising awareness about preventable injuries and promoting safer communities. Here in Raleigh, our Vision Zero team is committed to reducing and ultimately eliminating serious injuries and fatalities along our transportation network. It’s a big goal, but with community support and shared responsibility, it’s one we believe is achievable.

To celebrate National Safety Month and bring safety conversations directly into the community, our Vision Zero team will be hosting two Sidewalk Sessions in June! These pop-up events are a great opportunity to stop by, say hello, and learn more about what we can all do to create safer streets for everyone—whether you’re walking, biking, driving, or rolling.

Come chat with us about:

  • The leading causes of crashes and how to prevent them
  • Why Vision Zero matters, especially as Raleigh continues to grow
  • How you can support safe, healthy, and equitable mobility for all
  • General transportation questions

We hope you’ll stop by to enjoy some snacks, grab a free safety resource, and join the conversation. Let’s work together to build a safer Raleigh, one interaction at a time.

What is Sidewalk Sessions?

Sidewalk Sessions is a pop-up engagement effort by Raleigh Transportation that brings staff directly into the community—outside of traditional public meetings—to answer questions, share project updates, and hear from residents in a more casual, accessible setting.

More sessions on a variety of Transportation topics to come!
