Engagement Portal Text Changes Under Public Review Text Change Process Adopted Text Changes
From time to time there is a need to make changes to the City Code of Ordinances. These ordinances outline the rules for land use and development in Raleigh.
A text change means the rules for guiding development will change in some way. Text changes are often meant to:
- Address new development trends
- Accommodate changes in resident preferences
- Clarify existing code language
Text changes are important because ordinances affect what you can do on your property, what your neighbors can do on theirs, and what kind of development can take place in your neighborhood.
The engagement portal helps you stay informed and allow for your questions and comments about our upcoming proposed text changes.
You will find comment cards for proposed text changes that are currently under public review. This is where you can ask questions about these text changes or leave comments for staff!
There are other ways for you to get more information or provide your feedback on a proposed text change. You can email the Planning Commission members or you can attend the Planning Commission meeting during which the text change of interest will be discussed.
