Lake Lynn Loop Trail Improvements

Based on the available budget for this project, there are two primary goals as follows:

  1. To widen the pavement from 10 feet or 12 feet
  2. To repair or replace damaged sections of the asphalt trail. This project will provide repairs and improvements (except for the boardwalk areas) to the east side of the loop trail between the east end of the dam to the connection to Lake Lynn Community Center.

Design

In Summer 2018, the City contracted with the consulting firm SEPI Engineering & Construction, Inc. to provide professional services for improving sections of the Lake Lynn Trail Loop. The final determination of which sections to be paved will be dependent on final construction cost and available funding.
 

 

Meeting location is Lake Lynn Community Center 7921 Ray Road Raleigh NC 27613.  City staff and SEPI Engineering will be available from 6pm to 8pm to answer questions and discuss the project.

History

The Capital Area Greenway System was first adopted by City Council in 1976. This plan proposed a system of linear parks located primarily along rivers, streams, and creeks, and included the opportunity for an interconnected system of pedestrian trails across the region.
