Kyle Drive Park

Master Plan

Raleigh Parks is pleased to announce the next engagement phase for Kyle Drive Park Master Plan starts on April 22! Building on the insights gained from the previous phases, the team has synthesized community feedback to craft a preliminary vision of the park's future. This Draft Concept Plan will reflect the priorities, preferences, and aspirations voiced by the community, weaving together the strengths of the Alternative Concepts. Following this phase, we will carefully refine and integrate the community's input to create a final, well-rounded concept plan that balances and aligns with the needs and desires expressed by the community.

Visit the engagement portal for more information and to participate in the online survey when it goes live on April 22.

The Kyle Drive property is a vacant parcel located at 4700 Kyle Drive, near the intersection of Louisburg Road (U.S. Highway 401) and Valley Stream Drive. This future park site is 27.25 acres and is located along the Beaverdam Creek Greenway Corridor.

Planning

The Kyle Drive Park project is now in the Master Plan phase. There will be many more touchpoints with the community throughout the coming year, and we hope to hear from you! We of course agree that everyone who will be impacted by this project has a right to participate, and we welcome all to stay involved throughout the planning process.

Funding has been allocated for community engagement, Master Plan development, design, and construction at Kyle Drive Park through the 2022 Parks Bond Referendum. Raleigh Parks is excited to work with the community to create a Master Plan that reflects the unique needs and desires of local residents.

The Parks, Recreation and Greenway Advisory Board approved the Kyle Drive Park Situation Assessment on October 19, 2023. A Situation Assessment is an analysis of the local context around a project, to help staff determine the best way to effectively engage the community in a collaborative process. The Situation Assessment also identifies the Community Advisory Group (CAG), which is a membership-specific committee that provides oversight of the project planning process and ensures that decisions include a broad representation of the community and stakeholders impacted by the project.
