The existing Mine Creek Trail extends from Sawmill Road to the Crabtree Creek Trail. The Mine Creek Trail is one of the first constructed trails within the Capital Area Greenway system and is proposed to be improved to meet current needs and standards. The section of Mine Creek Trail included as part of this project extends from Shelley Lake to Crabtree Creek Trail. Improvements include trail realignment, the rehabilitation of the trail including a new base, new asphalt surface, trail widening, grading and drainage enhancements, improved access to and from communities, safety enhancements at at-grade crossings, pavement markings, and pedestrian bridge replacement.
