Pole Banners
Pole Banner displays help to promote events or activities in areas throughout the city. The message must represent or promote a cultural or community activity of the general public’s interest or a special event.
Banners cannot be used for political parties, issues, or candidates. They are also not allowed to advertise or promote any type of service or sale for any commercial business.

Lawn Irrigation
An encroachment is necessary for anyone (residential and non-residential) that wishes to install an irrigation system within the public right-of-way.

Residential encroachments for lawn irrigation are approved by staff. Non-residential encroachments are approved by Council.
After your encroachment is approved, you must provide two copies of the executed Lawn Irrigation Encroachment Agreement via mail to:

NCDOT Roads
Any major encroachment on NCDOT roads in Raleigh requires an encroachment from NCDOT. If you have an NCDOT encroachment, you do not need one from the City of Raleigh. Once the NCDOT has granted encroachment approval, you can then apply for all permits for construction, and street, lane and sidewalk closures in Raleigh.
