The Walnut Creek Trail follows Walnut Creek across southern Raleigh, extending over 15 miles from Lake Johnson Park to the Neuse River Trail.

Trails are open from dawn to dusk daily.

  • Follows Wilmington Street north, crossing at a pedestrian crossing and following Rocky Branch to Fayetteville Street south to Eliza Pool Park
  • Connections: Eliza Pool Park, Farmer’s Market at Centennial Bikeway Connector, NC State Centennial Campus, and Lake Raleigh

Centennial Campus to Lake Johnson

  • Follows Avent Ferry Road (sidewalk) and Trailwood Drive (partial sidewalk) and resumes on asphalt trail along Walnut Creek
  • Connects to Lake Johnson loop and connects to the Lake Johnson waterfront
