The Adult Program serves thousands of adults in the Raleigh area. While our clubs require a minimum age of 50 to participate, classes are open to all adults regardless of age.
Some of the many activities offered include:
- More than 25 one-day and overnight trips each year including cruises and international travel
- Educational seminars and workshops on a wide range of topics
- Exercise and wellness classes
- Art classes
- And more!
Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources offers a variety of adult programs throughout the year. Exercise and wellness, new languages, dance and music, cards and games, sports, and social activities are all available through Raleigh. With such a variety, you are certain to find a class!

Active Adult Centers
Our Active Adults Centers offer an even larger variety of programs and events for adults 50 and older.
Anne Gordon Center for Active Adults at Millbrook Exchange Park
**NOTICE: The Anne Gordon Center for Active Adults will be closed for maintenance Tuesday, Jan. 21 through Friday, Jan. 24. The center is expected to re-open at 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 27. Please see the list of class changes for new temporary class locations and cancellation information.**
The Adult Program staff organize numerous trips throughout the year. In addition to monthly one-day and seasonal multi-day trips, the Adult Program partners with the Adventure Program to offer Social Outdoor Active Recreation trips. Golden Years Clubs
There are more than 30 senior clubs affiliated with the Adult Program. These clubs meet at area community centers, churches, and senior housing facilities, and offer a range of activities such as bridge, speakers, trips, community service projects, and more. Clubs are comprised of persons aged 50 or older. For information on how to get involved in a club, or potentially start a new club, contact Carmen Rayfield or 919-996-4734.
Wake County Senior Games
