About Swim Practice and Meet Schedule Volunteer Coaches  Financial Assistance

Kids and teens can join one of our four intra-city swim teams for an opportunity to experience competitive swimming in a fun, enjoyable, and relaxed environment.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ages: Two groups, 3 to 10 year-olds, and 11 to 18 year-olds
  • Open to residents and non-residents
  • Participants must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted

Cost
The fee to participate is $82 for residents and $97 for non-residents. Financial assistance is available. 

About Competitions
Youth compete in a variety of categories including strokes, medleys, and races. 

How to Participate

  1. Sign up at one of our year-round pools (Buffaloe Road Aquatic CenterMillbrook Exchange PoolOptimist PoolPullen Aquatic Center)
  2. Attend practices.  
  3. Compete in meets. 

Note: Each coach will send parents or guardians the swim meet and practice schedule at the beginning of the season.

Fall Swim Practice Schedule 2024 

  • The season will start on Monday, Oct. 28 for Buffaloe Rd, Optimist, and Pullen.
  • The season will start on Tuesday, Oc. 29 for Millbrook

Volunteer Coaches 

The Aquatics Division is looking for volunteers to assist the Raleigh Aquatics coaching staff in supervising or directing program participants of the intra-City Swim Team. Volunteers will help organize swim meet competitors to ensure efficient operations of the meet. They may also assist at team socials. The number of volunteer hours would vary by event. Please contact 919-996-6640 if interested. 

Financial Assistance

The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department strives to provide programs to all. Thanks to generous donations and support, we are able to provide financial assistance to those in need. Financial assistance is provided on a sliding scale based on income and other financial circumstances. All patrons who wish to register for programs provided by the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department are eligible to apply. Please note that financial assistance is not available for specialty camps, organizations, adult teams, special events, or rentals.
